the fish that is the toughest pound for pound is the one that is the most wide spread and adapts and takes over the ponds lakes and river systems and that would be the large mouth bass.

In that case look at snake heads they climb across land to invade and take over bodies of water

i thought about that before i posted but snakeheads also are in florida where the large mouth still thrives and reign supreme and is way more abundent also most snake heads besides the northern cant handle a cold front where large mouth can be found from canada to central and south america, even in japan were the record was almost broken.

Bass? Get out of here with your dumbass! They dont even have teeth!! How bout carp? Better yet bullhead. I've seen black bullhead caught ice fishing, frozen solid, thawed, and started flopping on a garage floor. That's tough!! Muskie eat bass... bullhead too...

dumbass, muskie only live in the north they are top predetors thier BECAUSE OF THIER SIZE and can't survive any where any farther south because they are cold water fish and can not survive in warm climates wich makes them weak cant adapt . dont get me wrong thier they tough fish with teeth but a bass are still every where for a reason.

also this is pound for pound not the largest ,picture all the fish about the same size not a big fish eating a minnow.
