Yeah. I probably shouldn't have used the word streamlined. They are definitely not pikes and can certainly be beefy. I've kept many trimacs over the years, several to very large sizes. Here's my most recent one at 14-15".

I still say you need to be careful with feeding. Many fish farming studies have shown that overfeeding can cause growth to occur in less than ideal proportions and with many health issues. IMO, the second picture shows a fish quite unlike any you would find in the wild. I generally feed only until there is a VERY slight bulge in the abdomen area (with the exception of highly piscivorous fish who get large foods on an infrequent basis). If you can't see the bulge the fish is either underfed OR too fat to begin with.

And very importantly, if you are feeding freeze-dried krill you have to be EXTRA careful about portions. If the freeze-dried shrimp rehydrates in the fish's stomach and dramatically increases in size you can have serious problems with bloating, etc.

Of course, it's your fish, and to each his own. At least he isn't being neglected!

no i feed frozen the fish is the offspring of a pair i had that was obtained through ken.the fish was at an lfs for almost a year and had only grown to the size of the first pic. so i wanted to get the best growth and i know time to achieve this is running out. heres a pic of the pair male was slightly under a year old and 10.5 inches.

the male had a funny patern so i rehomed him after he killed his mate.
