These pics were taken with a point n' shoot? I just found a whole lot more respect for you, dood!

Let these pics be examples for all those who think a dlsr is required. Awesome!

Thanx alot for that one I think you made me blush. Lol!:D Yeah I've got a Casio Exilim a real P.O.S. I think it cost me $150 a couple of years ago. It takes alot of patience for me to take good shots the fish has to be in the right spot in the tank and that spot has to be well lit for me to take a pic. I can't stand that grainy look I get and the blur too. I was gonna upgrade the camera, but I decided to go with upgrading my tank instead. So I'm saving up right now gonna do a completely new set-up, tank, filtration and lights.

How big do hydrolycus get in a home tank

Not sure they are a couple of users with Armatus almost hitting the 2 foot mark maybe even bigger. Can't recall off the top of my head which was the biggest I've seen on here.

Hey kolt theres something about your pics, they kinda always look so smooth, any particular post processing u do ??

I use a noise reducer. My subject usually comes out crystal clear, but the background always has a little noise. I can't stand that grainy look in the background, so I clean it up a little. Though in this thread I only used it on a couple of pics. The others just came out pretty decent looking on their own. Experimenting with camera angles has helped me out alot. Depending on position it basically enhances the subject and darkens the background which also helps smooth out the picture, since it's always there the noise appears. Also it seems at least with this camera, certain angles make the subject appear in different hues giving them a unnatural yellow orange tinge. Also I chose my fairly high contrast plant's to help with the fish individual contrast. I've experimented with alot of combos trying to get the fish to show there best colors. I'm still working on it though.

I really like the sherzeri and I hope to get one soon.
