There hatching is temperature dependent I believe. The mantids near me lay eggs in the fall which overwinter and hatch in the spring. If you want yours to hatch sooner you should find out what temp the need to be kept at.

75f to be exact. Last summer I bought a Mantis Cacoon from my local garden supply store and the instructions say 75f for hatching. I released them into the plants my mom planted in the yard. It was pretty cool having 100 mantids crawling about.

I used to be in contact with a person that kept a certain species of large mantid, I meen, HUGE. It weas large enough to tear fuzzies/pinkies in half, then devour them.

I want to get into mantid keeping, they are very neat creatures. My favorite mantid Is the "Ghost" phase mantid. They are really amazing looking.

I figured that it was a temperature around that. I've heard of people bringing cocoon's indoors in the fall to find out that wasn't the brightest idea because now they have hundreds of tiny mantids crawling around on everything and it's February!

Yeah, 70-75 should be good. Are you going to release them outdoors? Or get a bunch of critter keepers. You'd be spending some serious dough on critter keepers if you kept them all! Haha.
