Thanks guys! I had to recruit a special lil lady to pair with Orange Julius Cesar..... :)

The eels are rumored to be able to hit 4'. Wes has some 30"ers. They definitely don't grow like their saltwater counter parts. Don't carry the girthy build of the saltwater ones either - built more like the G. Tiles. They do seem about as colorful as salty ones though. Very pretty lil buggers.

I did just as Don suggested, just put a huge amount of hides on one side of the tank. Rays don't really hang out over there. The wolves, cats, and eels seem to really enjoy the caves while the rays just dig in the sand on the other side.

Thanks for the second link to the video, I couldn't see it either.
Alan, I know you've kept monster morays and know how aggressive they are. I had problems in the past with smaller species of morays getting too excited at feeding time biting other tank residents. Just keep a close eye on the eels at feeding time. Would hate to see one bite a ray.
They are really cool eels!

Finally finished with the rough draft of the stand.

This thing has no trouble supporting me on the top tier without even being bolted together.... lol

First pic is the stand assembled, second is 10 min later on the porch - just the 3 tiers, ply for under the tank, 6 long legs and 2 short legs. These pieces will be held together with carriage bolts so I can take it apart and move it out as fast as it'll go in.

Stand is for a 8x2 240 gallon sump, 8x3x2 360 gallon tank, then the top tier will hold 40 gallon breeders - 3 for RO and 1 for aged tap. Will be drilling and pluming these things so a float valve refills them and a ball valve empties them quick. Whole goal here is to be able to pull off a huge water change of ideal water in a short amount of time. Hoping to be able to pull this off without shutting down any of the filtration. IF this works, and I can get all the bugs out, I see no reason why this couldn't have the option of becoming a fully automated system. :D

Just came home to this gorgeous lil female dead. No apparent reason. Ate fine on Sunday.

Not taking this one too well. Been crappy here for a while. Having still born pups, having pups randomly die for no reason sometimes right after birth, some take a month or 2, some even last a year but seems like no matter what I loose most of them. Have lost several bigger females over the years, but honestly can't tell you when the last time I lost an adult male was. Sitting here thinking this over and over I can only come to 1 conclusion. Maybe I shouldn't have rays.

May be a very large out of hobby sale coming soon. When the stress outweighs the joy that means it's time to pull the plug doesn't it?

Jeez you've been on a roller coaster. My condolences. Think most people here would agree you should hang in there. I think you're too far in the game to get out, but whatever you decide i wish you the best.
