  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I will need them to be big enough not to be eaten by me senegal bichir and hujeta pike characin though, so they shouldn't be bullied by the cichlid or even killed by it.

I'd probably go with a white spotted pike,25cm (15cm more usual), look nice, not aggressive but will stand up for themselves africans tend to be more aggressive than south Americans

Pike cichlids have great personality. Mine are constantly begging for food, and watching the pair dynamic is great. I would recommend getting a pair of them. They stay together always and swim in circles around each other like dolphins. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Oh wait no! Its crenicichla multispinosa my bad! I guess all the thinking about the white spotted pike confused me!

Absolutely beautiful! Will giraffe haps and such be predatory?
Yes, but they prefer to stalk rather than chase their prey. If you are looking for predatory action, some kind of utaka, like a placidochromis would be better. (I have kept venustus, but only small ones <5", and never placidochromis.) Angelphish Angelphish , is the legitimacy police now happy with my post? :p
