no dont keep them in an unfiltered tank, try and get another filter failing that get an airpump and a sponge filter<cheap as chips>
the mum will wilst laying her live young try to eat them and usually suceed leaving only a few survivers!!! my female dropped about 30 or so yesterday and what with the other guppys angels they made light work of the fry leaving only two left, saw her eat a few!!my breeder traps are full and my fry tank is housing a cichlid temp so have to leave them to it

.. ive got a wisper 10i in my 10 gal i think it sucked in guppies or the bigger guppies ate them idk i cant tell
