She is approximately 40 cm (16"). Water is perfect and the other rays are in perfect health.

The male has a lot of testosteron in him and gives her a love bite now and then, but no wounds or anything.

She breathes very heavy for weeks now and every minute or so her breathing makes a "hick up", just like when rays eat to much.

Where your rays not eating for weeks or days, richard? And where they brathing heavily also?

she was eatting but not as much for about 2 weeks

my female leo breaths heavy when preg and does'nt eat much during the last weeks
the sunken in head scares me too though

when my marble just had her pups.. She stopped eating in like the 2nd month for about 2 weeks.. she was very very skinny. I had the temp at 88 and put some salt in there with tons of night crawlers and she started eating. then about one week before the pups came out she didn't eat a thing. right after she had them she was fine. I think it has something to do with the females having there first litter. as my marble is prego now and eating great.

Thanks for all the tips and help guys, keep them comming. It really helps me, I really feel bad, she's our girl and it would be awfull to lose her!

haha, not totally frank. I'm going to add salt tomorrow (not because I believe in the amazon flooding thing affecting rays, but because I believe it "flushes her"). Just like it helped me when I had severe food poisoning... Also I'm going to raise the temp further to 30 degrees (I have plenty of air). The antibiotics is a next step (catching her gives a lot of stress and he told me I have to do it several times).

The story from Stingrayguy and Jo gives me some hope too.

I hope she pulls through, so I can sleep better at night

Antibiotics is a very good idea, When our rays get sick and stop eating for long periods of time we use a drug called BEYTROL. It's injectable we treat once a day for three consecutive days. I sware by the stuff works very well with all types of fish. Good luck Mike

i have injected one of my rays with baytril too along time ago it seemed to work
not sure with a preg female but for a last resort try it!
