The one time I had problems with the male beating on the female was when I pulled the fry after a couple days and the con pair was in a bare 29 gallon.

These are the exact same set of circumstances that led to my f con getting beat up. Maybe the missing fry has something to do with it... Anyways his punishment was to spend an hour in a 10G tank with my very mean flowerhorn. He has been a perfect gentleman ever since.

All my cichlids have since been moved into my new 210 setup. The 10G tank was for feeders, but was converted to a boxing ring to serve up some 'act right' to the male con.

Act right? You took their babies......They will be pissed, it's normal. "boxing ring" ? Come on....Seperate them for a week... reintroduce them keep an eye on anything damaging, and they should reacquaint just fine....Be as savage as you want on your threads, But don't talk about how you abuse your fish on mine or I will say the same thing every time......

Well I was mad when you wrote the response you did, especialy when you labeled me. That gets under my skin fast.

As hobbyists, we all know how much work goes into our fish and more importantly, maintaining a healthy environment for them. So my moving the male con into the 'boxing ring' was to be protective of the much prettier female. Like I said, they have since been reaquainted and have spawned since the incident.

Anyway, I'm over it and just more agitated at the overly watchful eyes of 'The Man' agressively carrying out his/her duties.

I now hand the thread back to it's original poster, and apologize for the hijacking.
