and if i can have a nice fish for over a few years thats fine with me if i can get a good amount of money for in the end.. more then i payed for it in the begining...
and im sure many people would not spend over 1000 on a fish if u could not sell it for money in the end........
This wont work at all, if you know how to do it (raising a baby and resell as adult), many people will.. Then it will end up like a bunch of people with a bunch of full grown arowana and looking for a buyer (not a lot of people will have the resources to purchase a full grown, its gonna be a test of patient and luck), but mostly your fish will gonna be end up sitting at your tank for the rest of its life
I know a lot of people around my area keep $1000+ Arowana, just for their personal interest. They brought it as baby and raise them, and Im sure not in a million year they will sell their precious just for profit
Ive seen a lot of lfs sell $800+ baby arowana just for profit, and if their stock renew itself every few weeks (3-5 weeks), imagine how many people in Toronto / Greater Toronto Area owns them?
And for people who can afford such expensive fish (ask yourself this, why do they want your fish instead of going to their lfs / vendor to order a full grown? Its more reliable, they have better reputation and most of all, they might be cheaper than the fish "You sell")
Why not just take those money to invest in something more profitable? stocks? Its risky but I think its more risky to invest on a live stock than ...

Because you will never know when will "The Reaper" visit your fish
