problem with cabomba

hi
im new to this planted tank, i like cabomba but when i plant cabomba in substrate, the stem and roots get rotten and cabomba floats....

how to plant cabomba ? can i directly plant it with the pot it came with ? pls help

substrate is ocean free plant base and lighting is around 2wpg
temperature ...i dont have apparatus to measure it(but in singapore ambient temp is around 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

For the cabomba, you just clipoff the stem, and use a pairof tweezers, holdthe endof the stem and pull it into the substrate. And so it holds, pull one set of leaves under as well, to anchor it. Also, you might need a little more lighting. What lights are they? Florescent? CF?
 
I'm not sure but i think the higher temps might be affecting your plants. ask Wyldfya he is the pro on this stuff.
 
I'd like a little more information. 1st, type of lighting is important, as many do not follow the WPG rule. Second, is the depth of the substrate. Third, inhabitants of the tank. Fourth, do you fertilize. Fifth, do you have co2. Sixth, are you certain the cabomba is rotting, and not breaking off? Seventh, have any roots formed in the section that is beneath the substrate?
 
Sounds like it might be hornwort aka foxtail (Ceratophyllum demersum) and not cabomba?
