Problem with cichlid tank

I give you alot of respect for being so open to suggestions man. It shows that you care and are willing to do what it takes to keep your fish properly. Good luck with it and hopefully when it's all straightened out you can post some pics.
Thanks, after I setup my other two reef systems things got a little hectic. I'm sad that an almost tank crash had to happen to make me see that. 
It looks like your jag tore him up. You need to keep water pristine and add melafix. I would suggest keeping the lights off as much as possible as the stress is more likely to kill than his injuries. Keep a very close eye for secondary infections.
Agree that fish got the crap kicked out of him. I'd have that fish in a QT tank doing daily WC. I would not put that fish back in there with the jag.
So the male dempsey passed away after the jag got to him more. so i removed the fish and the jag. I did another water changes( 15 gallons) and now there is 1 parrot, 1 firemouth both of which are very healthy. The Female dempsey I left in there since she is smaller and less agressive. Im gonna do another Wc on sunday. And next week a wc on saturday then purchase i think a severum or some giant danios probably like 7-8. does that sound good or should i continue the wc through next week?
