Problem with my endi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Definitely not stress related, he has been alone in the tank he was in since I got him 2 months ago and this is something I noticed when I went to move him so it's not something that came up after I moved him. Haven't added anything new, and water quality is good as well as steady with weekly WC's. I am thinking it may be something like kno4te said and might be some sort of growth or something that I may not be able to do anything about. Checked him this morning and he's still breathing really hard. I highly doubt with the way he's breathing if he will eat anytime soon. Hate to say it but I'm thinking it may just be a waiting game for something I can't do anything about :(

I'll tryin get a better pic if I can, not the easiest thing to do though due to where the growth/spot is on him.

It has a growth like look. Definitely any parasite should be of concern. Could always pretreat with prazipro.

Is it on both sides or just the one that is pictured? Also how big is the endli?

A thought that is coming to me is, my ornate didn’t have his gills come out until it was 6-7” then it just went away on its own. So I wonder if it’s gills are trying to come out but maybe got stuck. 1362130

He's 10". It's just on one side. I tried to get a better pic but haven't been able to yet. Noticed even his gill plate looks a tad red as well. I'm wondering if maybe it's some sort of bacterial infection or something of that nature.

RD. RD. want to tag you RD, I know you're not into poly's but you always seem good at diagnosing issues so mind taking a look at this and seeing if you might have an idea?

He's another but not sure if you can tell anything else from this one. Everytime I try to get a clear shot he either moves or the darn big severum swims across right in front of me. I'll keep tryin to get a more clear one today if I can.

Sorry Steve, I have no idea. From the one photo it does appear to look like a growth, possibly a tumour of some sort. Hopefully it clears up on its own. Good luck!
