  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Still absolutely love the stuff :) Just got another batch.

So nobody has experienced any problems like mineral depletion or pH changes? I might look into this for my 125g.

If I change my water too often, Oscar starts showing HITH and if I change it less...well that's just not an option, of course.

i use it on all my big tanks and it works great, i never have any mini cycles while recharging or anything go wrong while recharging.

Yes I have experienced mineral depletion if using over a long time in a planted tank. Adding proper supplimentation for the plants fixed the issue. As for mineral depletion affecting fish, no.

Very good product for removing tannins from water.

As for the Hith in your oscars, add a little aquarium salt during water change.

do you use purigen instead of activated carbon?
do I use purigen & seachem matrix for power filters and my canister?

i use it on all my salt tanks all the time. even on my octopus tank. i consider it a protien skimmer in a bag lol. its basically in my octo tank for ink just as insurance. but as long as you get good flow through it it works great. i would def use "the bag" it lets the water flow through alot better than panty hose.
but i give it a thumbs up. havent seen any miracles but havent had any problems with it either. and i think the color change yall are noticing is possibly tannins in your fresh tank. in my salt tanks it will stay white or egg shell for about 3 months before it even starts to change to brown.
but hope everyone has good luck with it. i use pothos and plants in my fresh tanks instead of this lol
dang, i didnt even see how old this thread was lol.

I made my own. I bought 4 Seachem "the bag"s , filled them with Purigen and used my food saver sealer to seal the bags shut. Worked awesome. They will never open or leak!
I am using them in my C-530 canister filter.
