Is the tank still holding water? I sure hope so. I went through a leaky tank with my 180. The dummy who owned my tank before me and used the bulkheads backwards. I tried silicone but eventually just replaced them. It is very frustrating.
Still holding!! I think the biggest problem with this tank was the bottom trim was weak allowing the bottom of the tank to expand and compromising the silicone. That problem was solved with the addition of the steel frame..
Nice job. I had the same problem on a 125 with the GE-1 silicone. The seal gave way in the middle of the night. Luckily I was in the same room when it happened. It adheres like crazy, but the tensile strength is rather weak. Now that it is sealed, what is going in there?
Will be moving my 18" blue channel catfish, 8" oscar and 6" asain redtail in to grow them out while I build them a permanent plywood home. Might add a few more cats to grow out if I find ones I like.
1 week + 0 leaks!! Draining tank now, picking up a wet/dry filter in morning. Will be moving tank tomorrow to it's spot and start gathering the rest of the pieces to start it cycling!! Time for a toast to MFK
Tank is moved and leveled in "fish room" (basement). I borrowed two sets of suction cups (the professional kind) and it made the move a lot "easier" than picking up 800lbs(?) of glass without them. Two people(!!!) and four suction cups aprox an hours time and tank is moved and on the stand. Will be piecing together filtration and such for the next few weeks then start cycling. Oh my cellphone camera crapped out so no pics. will update as progress is made.
