I donno, they look very much like the Perrieri to me.

I don't claim to be any kind of expert, but the face looks alot like the pictures i've seen, especially the mouth.

In the wild, Prognathochromis perrieri is a piscivorous fish with an elongated, slender body which eat small fish usually cichlid fry when released from the mother's mouth. The Prognathochromis species are shaped like torpedos and display a pointed snout. The pictured male is too round and is not elongated enough.

Also, there are only a few pictures available of the perrieri on the net, so it doesn't really help comparing benjamin's fish to the online pictures of the perrieri which we are so limited to. For now, the only thing we can do is wait for the new pictures of the male fully colored.

I agree with tydus in the fact that with the current pics alone I would definitley say these are not Perrieri. However, these are not the best pics and may not be showing the fish acurately. In these pics they do not look elongated enough and look to bulky not streamline enough...but they could just be bad pics.( I am really not rying to pick on your pics Ben...Sorry) I cannot wait to see new pics though and hopefully we can get this figured out!!! ;)
