i use API product to help me treat the water with, 2 different bottle called stress zyme+ and stress coat+, is it the same thing just different brand or totally different thing with the prime?

hell yeah i know its just gonna get expensive before getting cheap especially the final destination is not reached yet LOL

What do those two products claim to do? Prime detoxifies ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite. It also removes chlorine and chloramine. And it also promotes, to some degree, slime coat growth. Plus, it's really concentrated. I think a milliliter treats a gallon (one capfull treats 50 gallons).

yes it claims do all u mentioned and also neutral hard water not thats matter since the water quality on where i live is one of the best.
10ML treats 10 gallon of water.
but if the bottled product u mentioned is alot cheaper and work, theres nothing to loose with everything to gain to try that product :)

First rule of fishkeeping broken.... Tank not cycled.

Good luck with that little arro...

Mrs Dayak, hello!
I think I read in this thread that you have had experience with community tanks... Could this uncycled tank have been avoided. If I read that somewhere else, I apologise.....

who made up that rule, isnt it just myth, btw ur comment is those type thats want to fuel flame.
isnt it the point of cyling the tank to build up good bacteria in filteration system?

some believe to have the tank cycle with no fish and lets build up good bacteria build up in the filter "just give it 2 weeks -2 months to build up". thats might be right but it dont make sense to me or maybe the slower pace of cycling?

in opinion thats the slower way my reason is in order for bacteria to live they need food and where do u think the food came from?

my approach prolly is different from urs, but what i do is what make senses to me, i did cyled fishlessly for about 24 hours, then i add school of jumbo tetra fish which was intended to feed my aro(at the time he want to eat nothing but lives) and a chinesse algea eater to feed the beneficial bacteria then after 24 hours i add my pair of sen bichers and so on the arowana last, 2 weeks or so i add BGK to the addition.
all the water treated with the product i mentioned earlier and regularly testing the water condition.

TURBOED cycle thats what i call, maybe im doing it differently but i dont think i hurt my fish
my bio filter prolly already established or maybe its still cycling LOL, theres no way in hell i could tell but what i could tell the first 2 days my water was cloudy as hell and getting better as days past with about 10% WC every other day and the test result wasn't consistent. the water getting crystal clear within a week or so and i had good consistent result across the board.
so far was so good untill my test result shows otherwise very recently, thats when i did big WC, and i still finding out how often i should do my WC, armed with the API complete test kit and the product i mentioned LOL.
remembering what i did and confirmation from some helpful here, found out its the uneaten food that i left too long, sometimes hours and also, then again i was training my fishes to eat pellet, and dried.

next time im going to wash/soak the dried food seperately before putting it in the tank, i think the chemical within dried food whats contaminated my tank.
well my wife going to test the water again after 24 hour and i will find out the result, if the reading still bad i have to do another WC til i get back to the consistent result i had before

.... Are you for real?
This is almost comedy if it wasn't so down right irresponsible!

No it is for real, I'm cyling it with fish in it, the bio filter needs fish needs to work and I also have live plant in the tank.
Ok, what is it irresonsbile about, enlighten me plz
All I got to do is monitor the water within the parameter according to test result.
After a day of first tank set-up we brought in my water to be tested for harmfull stuffs to the residents, they came out with with a GO result, they did asked how long the tank cycled when after telling me the result andtold them a week

I was the one who pointed out that it could be this, but most likely was because tank wasn't cycled. Reading your last post, it is because your tank isn't cycled.
Please read through this and some of the links on it.

I know it says fishless, but the cycle that you are still in will be the same either way.

And those chemicals for the most part, waste of money. And the only reason people are recommending them right now, is because the are more like damage control then an actual fix, since your tank isn't cycled.
