Project Pea Puffer

Maybe a rtc, arowana and common pleco for cleanup? An Oscar too if it feels empty (which it likely will)!
I hear they only get to 2 inches in small tanks!

Jk - the dwarf cichlid pair sounds like a fun idea. That or maybe some dwarf frogs and oddball gobies of sort.

I have kept murder beans on multiple occasions and I still have 3. I have tried keeping larger groups (>6) but inevitably they start to kill each other. They really need a heavily planted tank so that sight lines are diminished. The 3 (2m, 1f) I have currently were in a 29g (120L ish) tank 30in x 12 x 18 (75 x 30 x 45 ish) with a khuli loach. They are now separated with a male and female in a planted 55g and the solo in a 29g. They can be kept with other fish but they need to be fairly quick as these little a**holes will go after fins. Even though they are little d***s they are also very smart and will learn to beg for food. They are almost fearless once settled in.

Lol. Hex tanks are a big conundrum haha.

Yeah, tell me about it. I wish i'd have left the damn thing up the attic now, lol.

Yeah, maybe. I've already researched that very stock list, but unfortunately they don't do short bodied varieties short enough for that footprint, lol.

Do you reckon a pair of rams is out of the question? Just on their own, no tankmates.

I haven’t kept rams, so I’m not sure how much space a piece would need, though I’ve heard of them in 10 gallons.
Some of the dwarf acara types could work, like nannacara anomola or the redbreast dwarf acaras. They are small and docile (anomola males look just like a small EBA).
A wild betta pair would definitely work (at least the smaller ones).
