The plan is to grow onthe 20 or so prime specimens I have kept for myself... I'll probably sell a few of them at a later stage. Just need them to attain their full potential before I decide which ones I'll be keeping. I'll also be breeding my red faced FMs early next year.

What do you think about this little guy? Hes a little stressed out, he had a lot more red on him at the store.

That's a potentially very nice FM... The large eyes indicate its a bit behind in its growing but it will catch up with lots of TLC and if don't put it with bigger fish that could bully it

By the way I used a mirror to excite my male into flaring.

Now that you mention it, his eyes are huge. He better be king of the tank, hes in a 55 gallon with convict and texas fry. Hopefully he'll get a nice growth spurt soon.

As long as its not long term thats ok... Convicts and Texas are way my aggressive than Firemouths. There's a lot of potential in that little fish - it would be good if you could concentrate on raising him into a bigger stronger fish. With those fish you mentioned, if he doesn't end up getting killed by their aggression as they grow larger, he certainly will get stressed out and put off his food.
