Hey, I have a 120g setup, with live rock and a sump that I am filling with bioballs and filter floss, just wondering on what protein skimmer i should get, i plan on doing reef setup later, and the tank is 120g regular, 48x24x24. I want prefarbly a HOS or a Sump Protein Skimmer, not one that go's in or Hangs on the main tank.

Another thing, what chemicals do you think for a saltwater setup with FOWLR should always be kept, so i can have them ready because i cant drive and can't go out and get stuff whenever i need them.

Thanks

Well You can try the octopus of ASM both are great skimmers for the money. You get what you pay for in Protein skimmers. Both those skimmers are needle wheels. I would take the filter floss and bio balls out for good. Just use your live rock and live sand for biological filtration.

No chemicals. Just RODI water. Or use prime to treat the water if u don't use rodi.

what's the chemical that makes your live rock get purple algea on them, purple up? My Live rock are very bland and boring right now, what should I get to make them more colourful?

It is Purple Up but time and good husbandry will cause coraline growth. If your calcium and Alk is balanced then u should have no problem. Good Luck!

Salifert makes the best test kit I have found. Go to www.mariendepot.com I think they sell them. They are worth every penny.
