Protest mistreatment of Snapping Turtles anyone?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hahahahaha, please show me where i said it's better to kill and discard? this thread is out of whack. some of you will scream bloody murder over wal mart's treatment of fish but then say YAY! WHACK THAT TURTLE!

the only thing moronic in this thread is someone being against better treatment of animals. almost everyone who's comment about how they don't really mind has said it's in poor choice to make a sport out of it though.

The way i see it, if you want to farm raise some snappers and rip their heads out of their shell then pick it up by it and don't really care cuz it's food, that's cool. just don't pull them out of the wild. Either way, i'm still going to hump so in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't even matter

hey, if the walmart fish were meant for consumption, i probably would be ok with that too. it would be no different than the chicken farms' chickens

and wacking the turtles wouldn't bother me as much only if the carcasses were eaten and not thrown away

i agree with you though about not pulling the turtles from the wild. if they wanna make it a tradition or something, they should farm raise them, but only if the turtles get eaten afterwards

what is this? never heard of it

i had gator one time at a restuarant. wasn't a fan of it. it was weird, it tasted fishy and gamie

Hmmm...Maybe it depends on where you eat it. If you ever head out to the southern realm of the states, hit me up and we'll have a tasting of some dishes at a local restaurant. Where I eat it, it has the texture of chicken and is not fishy at all. I'm not sure what "gamie" means...lol Maybe cooking it is something that requires a certain touch, as it is not a widely served dish in most places?

As for the treatment of food....I honestly wouldn't want my food doped up before slaughter either.

I really enjoy discussing things with you two. It makes my day sometimes.

It would be nice if we could have monthly meetings just to discuss random things, kinda like the "tip discussion" on the beginning of Reservoir Dogs.

i saw the vids i didnt see anyone wacking a turtle on concret? i saw people tap the shell and grab them by the neck

your food is already drugged up but that's another discussion for another day. i'm movin on to the next thread before people think i'm some reformist hippie that protests the treatment of animals.

i heard the word "gamie" used by that guy that travels around the world eating different foods. "gamie" is that taste of game meat that doesn't taste the same as farm animal meat. like some fish wild caught has a that gamie fishy taste that you wouldn't get from a farm fish. and i've had wild pig meat that was hunted and it tastes different from pork from the store. but wild pig meat is SOOOOOOOOO much better than market pork. if you've never had it, you've never had real pork.

i'd love to hit up some of the places where you're at to try all that stuff. i doubt i'll ever get to come there but if i do i'll hit you up
