But will game developers as well? I believe EA or EA sports has already said that they've gone as far as they can with the 360's technology. That could mean 5 more years of little to no improvements to the games.

Both consoles will be obsolete in the next few years. And don't bother racking up a massive blu-ray collection as its going to see one of the shortest shelf-life of any entertainment format in history.

Going by global sales/popularity PS3 brings up the rear behind 360 and both are miles behind wii.

can you elaborate? why are consoles and bluray going to be obsolete? what's going to take their place?

Shorter shelf life then HD dvd players and movies?

i got lucky that Best Buy was willing to take mine back when they gave up. i got my cash back on the purchase with their credit card and they sent out giftcards for the price of the hd player automatically if you bought it on their credit card. doubled my money off it and bought a blu ray player

Don't get me wrong, I love my blu-ray player and I shelled out big bucks to get one thats wall mountable and wifi and blah blah blah. But the writings on the wall. Its days are numbered!

edit: and actually Younglin, i wouldn't be surprised if there is/will soon be a virus for the ps3, same with the xbox and wii tho. there are virus for the DS, aswell as iOS (ipad/pod/phone)
