Gears of War 2 is going to kill any PS3 release to date.

Get both systems, both have their own pluses. Both also have their own flaws.

without a doubt GW3 will kick ps3 butt but ainte resistance 2 coming out?:WHOA:

Personally I would go with a 360, just because of the games. Still waiting on good PS3 exclusives to force me to buy one.

Here are things you might want to consider when choosing. Of course there are many more things that can be added to the list, but these are the only things that I can think of at 2 in the morning.

PS3:
Pros

  1. Price cut in September to $400 for the 80GB Model
  2. Blu-Ray Player
  3. Don't know how to explain it, but the Hard Drive is free form. You can basically use it as a normal hard drive and if it breaks, you can replace it pretty easily without busting your wallet.
  4. Free Online Play
  5. Has a Web-Browser
Cons

  1. With the new model, the PS3 Loses PS2 Backwards compatibility
  2. The memory card reader from the 1st Gen model is gone
  3. No good exclusives so far
  4. Might be a personal opinion, but the firmware sucks. Not a fan of the psp firmware.
XBox 360:
Pros

  1. Good exclusives
  2. Cheaper than a PS3
  3. Vast online community. I would have to say this one of the main reasons people prefer a 360 over a PS3.
  4. You can log on to your online gamer account on another system without bringing a thing.
  5. New Models have HDMI ports
  6. Rumored Price Cuts as well in response to the PS3's Price Cut.
Cons

  1. You need to pay for online play. Though its only 50 bucks per every 13 months (1 year + bonus month) and it's worth every penny.
  2. Hard drive is restricted. You can't do certain things with their hard drive and you have to buy ones made for the 360. A 120 gig is like 180 bucks? You also need windows media center to transfer media to and from your 360...unless you want to buy it from the XBox Live marketplace. There are 2 USB ports however, and I haven't played with them too much, but it might be another way to add music or pics to your hard drive. Don't quote me on that though, as I said, I have yet to play with it very much. Its mainly meant for using the Wired Controllers I believe.
  3. No Blu-Ray player and the external HD DVD player is useless.
  4. Might still have a slight overheating problem where the system might freeze or something, though this is mainly aimed at the older models. If you happen to get the red ring of death though, Microsoft will fix it for free, even if the system is out of warranty. Usually takes about a month...
Like I said, I'm sure there's more so everyone else can feel free to mention them, but thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

Also feel free to correct me if any of this info is wrong.

I have both systems and I play my PS3 way more than my 360. In fact if I played my 360 as much as I play the PS3 I'd probably would have had to send it back to microsoft because just about all my friends who own a 360 soley have had a "three rings of death" issue. Gears is about the only reason I don't feel pissed about buying a 360. Don't get me wrong its a good gaming system, I just enjoy the PS3 much more.

is gears gonna be 360 exclusive?

PS3. the game selection is getting better.

360 has good games but what good is that when the machine always breaks.

If you were to buy a brand new 360 you would not get the red ring. Just don't buy used and you are fine.

ps3 has mgs4.... i have both but my 360 is dead. The Dark Knight on Blu-ray is gona be sick
