PSA: Please stop using PhotoBucket!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This subject came up in another thread not too long ago.I don't use photobucket, never have and don't see a need to but others have posted reasons for using it in the other thread, maybe someone can link it here...LOL@failbucket!

I switched to photobucket years ago because I had nothing but problems loading directly on mfk. I don't like the app at all so I just open the page via safari. So what's the best way to load images where it's not such a pain.

I don't own a camera so all of the photos I've shared here were taken and downloaded to the computer through my phone....once that's done, upload to the site from my photo files....easy peasy.

I can't find that option. When I click on advanced options, it says camera, photo album, URL link and image link but when I try to click the last 2, my phone freezes. It also gives me an option to share with twitter but nothing about "insert inline."

Check the posting pictures from the app section of that guide. See if you're not missing a step.

I suspect that your problem might be that you're using an iPhone as well. The app people, Tapatalk, are a third party developer who we pay to host our site on an app. They don't seem to support apple users as well as the do android users. Trying to get anything fixed is... difficult.

I agree. Photobucket is a huge pia. I don't even look at the pics half the time.

I'm deeply upset!

On another note at least photobucket minimizes the image making loading faster, some people load huge images via MFK and it takes literally 2-3 minutes to load on the app and it will download them to your phone.

The problem is the different interfaces between the app and the site making some thing's inconsistent, some people prefer the cpu and some the app. But its a free site that has great people so I can't complain!

If people upload their images correctly, this isn't an issue. They automatically resize to 800x600 or so if you insert inline. The only time one would run into the problem you describe would be if the poster didn't insert the image inline.

See the instructions-

How about posting photo directly from its source. Can you view those?

Can you see this picture on your phone... pic taken from Google pictures

Yeah that one worked fine for me. I approve of that method.

Ya. Mine doesn't look like that. It comes out like this.

Edit: after I choose a pic, it just asks what size, but nothing about insert inline. I always choose smaller.

What you're looking for is 3-4 steps farther down the process. Read the instructions from the how to post pictures sticky. It may well be missing from your version of the app, but the "inline" step is the LAST step, not the first.
