If people upload their images correctly, this isn't an issue. They automatically resize to 800x600 or so if you insert inline. The only time one would run into the problem you describe would be if the poster didn't insert the image inline.

I started a thread about this a couple months ago. Please no more photobucket. When I try to look at a pic and it sends me to photobucket I leave the site. That's how bad it is.

Even hosting the pictures on Facebook works for me. There isn't ads and crap, it's just the image. And it's super easy!
