Oh sorry I have a 4 inch senegal and a 4 inch delhezi I plan on letting them grow for a bitDepends what you call, juvenile bichirs, and which type. If you mean 4” Senegal then no. If you mean 6” endlecheri then possibly yes. Although you would still have to watch for aggression and ensure the birchirs get food.
Agree with this 100%Depends what you call, juvenile bichirs, and which type. If you mean 4” Senegal then no. If you mean 6” endlecheri then possibly yes. Although you would still have to watch for aggression and ensure the birchirs get food.
The delhezi could get a size where it can't be eaten but I'm worried about the senegalHad my old bufonis with upper jaw bichirs and went well. The bichirs were too big to eat though.
Thank you I'm probably gonna put him in the breeding nets in one of my other tanks temporarilyI wouldn’t be concerned about an adult Senegal getting eaten by pseudopimelodus bufonius but it will take longer to reach decent adult size which will only be around the same potential size as the catfish, maybe slightly larger.
But the cat has the potential to grow faster than the birchirs and be much more boisterous. So yes, let them grow before adding a cat.
