FREMPONGI JEWEL./ this was my female that i raised from barely 2 inches. these fish have attitude! she was mean enough to be a dominant factor in a tank that was full of fish twice her size. great eater (pelets, shrimp, feeders, worms, meal worms, cut fish, and it loved feeders. ( tuffies more than gold fish(but would still eat goldfish).

she layed eggs for me 4 or 5 times before i traded her. i had to get her out of the tank because she was starting fights with fish that were getting big enough to eat her in one gulp. thier color is great too changes constantly with thier mood from a irridesent green to blood red with black spots. this fish could definatly hold is own.

if i was getting some for your tank i would get 6 or 8 smaller frempongi and what ever dither/ cichlids you want in there and raise them together and take out the other fish as needed

Jags are the great! a single in a 75 would be cool a 100 would be better. I had one in a 65 g. He destroyed everything convicts, salvini, feeders and a 12" flowerhorn and he was only 6" long! I eventually kept him alone until he reached like 10". I ended up selling him to an lfs cuz I felt bad, he needed a bigger tank and I couldnt give it to him.

I think 100 gallons is big enough for plenty of crazy cichlids, I have never seen a really tough jd though ,but I hear there out there???? I like red devils, jags, the buttikoferi are all sweet and crazy!

I had a pr. of dempseys 6 inch male 41/2 female kill a 12 in red devil when they decided to breed.

Jd are pretty cool, I've always liked them. I thought also, that they would live up to their namesake. When they reach full adult size, they are capable of full on attitude, but in my experience they have to be provoked by another. I have a 7" male and a 5" female, the male gets pushed around by my 7" male salvini. Both my jd kinda work together as a pair to stand up to his wrath. I've never owned a Red devil but I here they can be pretty badass.

those are Tall, Wide, and Square dimensions, not standard. But thanks anyways i got the real dimensions, 72 x 18 x i forgot how tall

This may sound insane but two of my male BRP's are so nasty that I have to throw food n the tank from a distance and I have to use a 30" vac tube to clean the tank. They attack the glass whenever anyone comes close to the tank. But I gotta say they have gotten HUGE so a 50 gallon would be for one fish....
