what about some of the dwarf lions?

liveaquaria says 30, so lets add about 30 more gallons, so around 60-90 minimum.

if i can quote live aquaria as you like, it says they only get to about 7 inches or so? i think thatd be big enough for a 55

Yeah, 55 should work, but nothing smaller.

Usually liveaquaria i think is pretty good with their info on tank sizes. I love my lion he is 8-9inchs, easily my favorite fish ever.

what about a 90 for a volitans?

btw, sorry for the derail.....

the thing about dwarf lions is they get between 4 and 10 inches and will technically be called 'dwarves'

radiata are usually called dwarves but can top out at 10 inches definite;y a 55 min... maybe even a 75 min

but things like zebra, fumanchu, and fuzzies COULD go in a 30 or so, but they'd pretty have to be the only fish in there, or have NASA grade equipment...

Really? Mabye for some of the damsels and smaller fish. But when it comes to the larger fish, I haven't seen much in the way of correct tank volumes. My favorites are saying an Arapaima gigas is ok in a 1,000 gallons or the redtail catfish in a 300 gallon tank.

well if i had like a 90 with a volitans and a snowflake eel thatd pretty much be it. unless i had like one angel in there too.

if you had a tame (preferably smaller) angel and good filtration that'd be fine
