My lion fish is also very intelligent! he knows that i´m only picking up a fallen decoration or taking out of the tank some bones he left from last livefeeding, he goes to one corner and remains there until i´m done with his tank. But he really gets angry when I pass my fingers through the glass, he hates that!!! Here at a LFS I saw a eel that was very similar to a humpback grouper(In coloration) is this a good type of eel to mix with a small volitans?

it's probably a tesselata eel.. a good match but very large and very aggressive.. if you have like a 180 gallon tank you could try it
if by some chance it was a chain link eel
then you could get away with it in like a 90 or so
