Alright, I am traveling to Puerto Rico this December and have always had a strong interest in Caribbean Anoles. My question is if I were to collect any would I be able to bring them back. Are there any permits or special considerations involved since technichally its a U.S. territory? I have been keeping and breeding reptiles since I was 5 (15 years total) and have had a strong interest in rare (in the U.S.) anoles for at least 5. The people on this forum seem to have quite a bit of legal knowledge regarding herps so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It would be illegal eventhough you were bringing it from puerto rico. If it were to happen youd still have to get the documentation to export them out and import them in, not to mention any associated costs in doing so. Just drive to Fl im sure there is some sort of anole that might be here that youre looking for as they tag along all kinds of ways, boats, fruits, etc etc....

They are pretty cool looking. I have kept and bred Anolis carolinensis & Anolis sagrei. And I did have a male Anolis equestris for a bit. Hmmm....I'll keep you posted about that offer!
