Puffer killed Oscar?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The poison on the skin of the captive puffer is that harmful to humans or is it so diluted that it wont harm us? The reason why I ask is because I know someone who deflates his puffers when they puff up.

Side note:
I was watching a show on Discovery that put the box jelly fish as #1 for the most poisonous in the ocean. Along with the jelly was the Marbled Cone Snail, Blue Ringed Octopus and the Stonefish.

why the hell would anyone force its fish to do anything physiological?

I was wondering the same thing, unless he is making it puff too. Touching the puffer will not kill you but maybe you should tell theat guy it will.

He said that his puffers get "stuck" and wont deflate on its own.

Yeah, just like cats that get "stuck" in a tree. you ever see a cat skeleton up in a tree?

I don't even feed my fish nasty ass "reds" let alone something poisonous.

Research before you feed an animal "something" next time.:screwy:

And i suck at life. Thought i would throw that in the mix as well. lol.

I should have done the "research" but in all honesty i didnt mean to kill the O, i cared for that fish just as many of you care for your fish.

Im heart broke about it.

Thanks for all the info though!

Yes yes, we all know that it was a careless mistake and one that could have been avoided. That has been addressed, and the original poster is aware now of the mistake. We have all made ridiculous mistakes as we started, and many probably ended in tragedy. Thank you for those who are providing solid info. Lets keep the comments constructive ok.
