also i was talking to a guy at my LFS and when i was telling him about my puffers(he is a puffer maniac so he loved the fact i got these guys) he was asking if i started getting the black marks on the puffers, and i have gotten that before but nothing like that too recently, and he informed me that it is lack of salt in the tank and its making them upset. which makes sense because i dont think they have gotten the black on them since i had them at fully marine, but they were getting it while they were still brackish. i will try to sneak some pictures of my puffers so i can post on here

what is your sg at right now? my gsp has a little bit of grey now, he needs a bigger tank, i'm just waiting for a phone call I hope to get a great deal!
65gal tall and 50 gal long with stands for $150!

my puffer actually comes to the tank and greet me, he only gets scared at sudden movements.

Dat fishy so cute. i want to hold him, squeeze him, hug him, kiss him, and rub noses like bunnies do.:headbang2

haha my sister says the same thing about them! haha

nice deal definitely hop on that! i have them at like 1.023 or so. not exactly sure of it im not at home, but they are fully marine now. is he the only fish in there other than the cory? i tried a panda cory when mine were freshwater, yeah not such a good idea. he was missing(couldnt find his carcass or any remains) within 24 hours haha. i dont know what happened then like two weeks later, even after tearing my tank apart trying to find him taking out all decor and all, so he didnt ruin my water, he appeared at the top of the tank floating with his face half bitten off. luckily somehow it didnt completely ruin my water and kill my puffers. look on craigslist if this deal is a no-go. my friend recently just found a steal, something i told him he needed to hop on and that he will never see a deal like that for that size tank ever again in his life im sure. a 110 gallon with stand, glass tops, heater, water pump and pvc for the filtration for $150. i found what i even thought was a steal just because of the prices of tanks and all, a 75 with stand, a bunch of filter media(sponges and carbon) for an AC 70 which i happened to have, bunch of decor and long single strip light that runs the length of the tank for $185. the strip like alone for that size costs $90 at least.

yeah they can be a little skittish especially after transporting and all. mine come to greet me, but i think they are just looking for food... fat pigs haha always looking to eat

mine has been in the tank for a week or so...there is also another deal im hoping to work out a 47 gal cube with filter no stand though for $75

still good though can always makeshift a stand with something sturdy and thick. with hood and lights? i like the look of cube tanks. that may limit you though eventually if you wanted to get something else in there when its fully marine. only because it will lack the length of a normal tank and will have less area to swim around from side to side to investigate.

yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the tank. I have no problem building something, I have always been handy. But I don't think it comes with a lid or lights hrmm. I haven't checked out craigs list yet just kijiji.

I have been tossing around ideas for tank mates. My puffer doesn't seem to be aggressive..yet The corys were fine in the tank with him so far (I took them out because of the salt) One place I have read that monos, scats and archers do well but they all get quite large...The other I have read about are danselfish, I haven't done much research on them yet, but they are quite nice looking

with my 2 GSP and 2 F8 puffers i have a yellowtail damsel, four stripe damsel, domino damsel(he chases the other damsels once in a while but doesnt nip fins), and a blue devil damsel. i also have a scooter blenny and a chocolate chip starfish. saltwater ghost shrimp are in there too as food/cleaners. my GSP seemed pretty timid compared to what i have seen so i wanted to try out quick fish to have my big guys and then a nice little school of damsels all of different color variations. i like the look of having my "monsters" and then random quick little fish in there

yeah for sure...I actually think I read about your tank before and I was intrigued by the damsels..how big do they usually get and how big is your tank?

they range from like 3-maybe 5 inches at most. i have them in a 75. soon i am getting a cheap 55 from CL or where ever i can find a cheap used one to make into my sump/refugium so i have plenty of water volume to dissolve the waste they all will be giving off
