pufferfish

i just recently saw some pufferfish at our lfs
i was in a rush so i couldnt really ask any of the workers some questions
so i was wondering if any of u could give me any info on green spotted puffers and figure 8 puffers
or maybe give me some links to pages with info on them

Green Spots grow larger. Both are Brackish. The Figure 8 Puffer is light brackish. I've seen Green Spotted Puffers in full saltwater set ups as well.

GSP are gnarly little guys. I had a pair and as soon as they tasted one of their tank mates that they lived with for a year and a half. All the other fish became game too. Damn things were like the fat chubby kids in a pahrana family! Anyhow, they learned how to hunt and started eating everything it could catch. Dont get it wrong, I loved those guys. Sad story, kinda like romeo and juliet. One died and then the other one got sad....the white belly turned dark almost black....not a happy fish. The once shimp eating machine just looked at the food and stayed in the corner till it died. :(
 
damn that totally sucks but the part bout bein hunting partners makes me wanna get a pair hehe :-P
 
Nice but be careful when choosing a pair cause they usually dont like each other. Good luck they are great as a pair. :D
 
hehe thnx i was also wondering wat would be a good choice to feed them to keep their teeth short
i have heard that their teeth grow like crazy
 
how big a tank are you getting? F8s need 10G min, GSP need 20G long min, and that is all by themselves with no tank mates (which is how many puffers must be kept)
