.. so I need some suggestions on the best way to pull out fish. I'm at a point where I have a good idea which stock I want to continue to grow out but I'll be damned if pulling fish out of a 125g isn't a task of futility. I pulled the entire scape today and dropped the water level about 50% and they basically said "get bent". What is the best way to go about doing this? I've got 4 blue acara, 3-4 heckelli and about 6 RH taps that need to come out now. Lot of work to say the least since I'm trying to keep specifics.

I usually do this, but 75% or top of fish and then use dual nets. This was in my 350, so I'm sure the 125 it would work also.

go buy a pvc pipe in a size the fish can fit in. cap 1 end and drill holes in it so it sinks and water will drain when you lift it. drop it in the tank and get the net fish will hide from the net in the tube.. now grab the tube with your hand and lift out :) works every time :)

Take out 50% of water then set up some sort of divider to decrease the size of the tank. Use 2 nets

fin level and a net.

I was trying not to go lower but it looks like I may end up having to. Combination of that much water + dual nets and maybe I'll get somewhere.

Good to see you're move went well btw!

Catch the fish first thing in the morning when you turn the lights on.
Sadly doesn't work with these guys. The moment the lights come on they are instantly off the bed and moving around. This was the first thing I attempted before moving to a divider (which failed as well, see below)

go buy a pac pipe in a size the fish can fit in. cap 1 end and drill holes in it so it sinks and water will drain when you lift it. drop it in the tank and get the net fish will hide from the net in the tube.. now grab the tube with your hand and lift out :) works every time :)

Never heard of a pac pipe, what is this? I get what you're saying as far as the method goes though.

This is what I was attempting but the plexiglass piece I cut was a pita to keep up while handling a net as well. Could not figure out a way to get it to stand straight. If I used the rocks to keep it in place, then the fish would all dogpile on each other trying to hide underneath them

fin level and a net.

Never heard of a fin level, guess I should look in to it.

just means take the water down to fin level, to ware the dorsal is a little out of the water. they really have no ware to go then and get a full good WC at the same time.

If you have silicone type air hose, you can use that to wedge the plexiglass against the tank's glass
