Ok i haev a wet dry filter this is the problem though...my pump pumps out to much water and it wont stay level in my tank...i know i need a ball valuve i beleive to even it out...but only one of my heads is working does anyone have any ideas?

get yourself a ball valve and put it on the return line to choke the pump down a little
if you can add another overflow and then the ball valve may not be needed

mike

sounds like you are overpowering your overflow.
I would add an overflow

Only one head is working? What kind of a setup are you running? Is it 2 pumps back to the tank or one pump to drain and one pump to return? The latter is impossible to stabilize.

I have two returns, two heads, and one over flow

plus im going to put another filter on it, either a emperor or a aqua clear

Got my ball valve and i'll find out tonight if ti works please pray for me

2 powerheads AND you're installing a ball valve? Turn off one of the powerheads instead. No sense in restricting the return flow with a ball valve. Restricting the outlet flow increases the load to the pump motors and reduces the motor's overall lifespan.

hmmm..other option get 2 smaller rated pumps. What pumps are you using? Rated GPH @0 head?
