Can anyone tell me which Pundamilia Nyererei this is? It is labeled as "Tangerine Nyererei" on livefishdirect.com. I cant tell which variant it is though, is there even much difference between the difference variants?

There is a big difference. I have Anchor Islands, Ruti Islands and Python Islands and they all have different color patterns. The one in the pic looks like the Igombe Island variant. You would just have to buy them and see what the males look like all fired up to be sure. I sent him an email a few weeks ago asking about them but he has no clue. He breeds volume to make money and doesn't seem to worried about collection points.

Yeah, I emailed them also and they didnt know. Almost all my fish are from him and I am pleased with the fish, its an all male show tank so I am not breeding or anything. How would a pundamilia nyererei do in a tank with a male ruby green and different haps/peacocks?

Hard to say. I have never mixed Nyereri myself. Trial and error I guess. That is how I do it if no one has advice. Seems like it would be ok to do. I have other Vics mixed with Peacocks and they do just fine.

Thanks. My brother was ordering fish from them so I figured I would give it a shot and get it since he was ordering fish anyways. Hopefully either he will color up or cause my ruby green to color up. The only time the ruby green shows color is when I feed them.

My male Ruby Green is the same way. He hides more than anything else. If you have a Ruby Green in the tank you should be ok adding a Nyereri. They look nice. Let me know how it looks when you get it.

Mine ruby green is very active and out in the open a lot, he has good personality, he just doesnt show his color much. When do these start showing color? I got the 1-1.5" male.

They should have color now. All my juvies start showing color at 1" and have had some almost fully colored at 1.5" My male Nyereri Ruti Island is pretty much fully colored at 1.75"

I figured they must get color early if they are selling them sexed at 1-1.5". I will take some pics when he gets here.
