So I have seen purigen mentioned a lot on the forum, so I finally looked into. It says it can help control ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates. Can it actually help control nitrates? I don't have a problme with ammonia or nitrite and my nitrates are kept in check with water changes. Occasionally I have to skip a WC and it would be cool to have a product help with the nitrates then.

+1 for OP, As my name is, I lve Drift and mopani. In my EMP 400 all i run is carbon in my baskets to get my water tea tannin free. I heard Purigin would help

I found purigen really does work miracles when it comes to polishing water... Nothing i've found works quite as well...

it isn't going to absorb n03, its like super carbon, it does help a lot with polishing as said above^^

If you want lower nitrates with less cash look into my link below!

I knew that was coming. You beat me to it

I like it and use it, just be careful when you "recharge it" (aka soak in bleach) as not rinsing it out well enough can lead to huge PH spikes...
