Purple African cichlids?

I understand where you're coming from, but my experience is that Lithobates is a pretty rugged hap. Of course each tank is different, and I wouldn't go mixing them with M. auratus or Kenyii, but if we're just talking yellow labs or zebras or rusties, even Psuedotropheus, then I think the Lithobates would hang in there.

I think we need to post a poll or something on the color. Because even that picture I put up there looks purple to me.

Lights do a wonderful job of making colors "pop" when they shouldn't. Every lithobate I have every seen has been blue. I would lend the purplish hue to the lighting that was used without seeing the fish first-hand,.
