Nitrates are at 8ppm, on new liquid cooled scrubber lights.
Had some territory disputes, so added the 5 story, pvc pipe cichlid house. I used a rope laced through a drilled hole, to suspend them.
The smaller holes allow smaller fish to escape from the bigger ones.

The left side, is Bluto's territory to the far side of the white coral. No one is allowed in unless their 10 " off bottom. Including the magnet scraper.

I find watching algea grow, about as interesting as watching corals. The long strand turf algea, is losing ground. To a shorter variety.

The algea scrubber lights, in the sump, are only at 25% brightness, as replacements are low on my priority list.
I am going to wait a while and see what the direction the tank goes.

My best guess is that with out as much scrubber light, the less complex algea, is growing much faster in the display. Than before.

My African mbuna, like the softer, simple algea more, so it gets grazed more heavily. This uprootes the long strand turf algea.

20170928_182406.jpgLatest algea scrubber growth, with 25% less light, and a reduced water flow (plugged filter now fixed).
Mostly scum algea.20170928_183119.jpg
Liquid cooled scrubber light array. Test run.

Nitrates are pushing 20ppm. Scrubber screen was cleaned white, 3 days ago.

Noticed lots of bubbles from algea growing.20170928_184212.jpg
They float up constantly. The over flow is skimming correctly also.

The sump/water change/chiller drums, in 130 year old basement. Still have not hooked up the pool filter " fluidised algea Scrubber project. Maybe this winter.
The chiller effect has held both tanks at 75 degrees, all summer. With out they would be 85.

Under the tank, trickle filter, algea scrubber, fry tanks, filter floss tray.15069097578251105270259.jpg
Ten gallons of 100% pure, organically obtained fertilizer. When I wash filter twice a week.
Which goes to the orchard, or vineyard growing. Strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, cherry , apples, and a micro rose garden.

4 layers of mechanical filtration.
1st is a grill scrubber,
2nd 1/2" quilt backing, disposable after 2 weeks.
3rd 400 micron polyester floss Matt,
4th 100 micron polyester felt.
3 and 4 get bleached white once a month.
Every thing gets power washed twice a week.

organically obtained fertilizer
Unsure of this. If you mean chemically 'organic', than all fertilizer falls under this category. If you mean as in 'USDA Organic', then that depends on the fish food you use.

Lol, petro chemical, anhydrous ammonia, based.
So how many digestion tracks must something pass, before it is deemed 100% USDA organically grown.
