Purple algae that mbuna will eat.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I noticed when I had saltwater that the more actinic lighting I used the higher my coralline algae would be. I know plants, corals, and algae use a lot of the blue spectrum to grow but I think coralline algae almost uses it exclusively, yellower lighting actually causing it to die or recede. As for the algae on your scrubber that's not coralline but I'm not so certain in the tank that its not. I noticed the same thing coralline grows at a higher rate/ sooner, faster on pvc piping.

Still have some purple algea. It only grows on the front glass, noticeable after a long weekend with out any cleaning.
The long strand turf algea, is back as the fish like spirulina in dry pellets. More than the fresh stuff.

I also reduced my yellow labs too 1 male with 6 nice females.

The light colored fish are female hybrids 50/50. Acie x dragons blood. They have awsome dispositions. Their male is a full hybrid blued firefish hybrid.

You've got the brains and the guts to do some really original and cool stuff. most people in the hobby just keep whatever without putting thought into design, while here you are breaking new ground. I don't agree with everything you do, I believe my aquaponics beats your ATS in every way, but you do some really cool stuff. The hdpe and algae is incredible. I will do it in my non aquaponics tank, I have completely failed trying to grow algae in my aquaponics tank which I guess is a good thing.
