One or two you would still need the 36" width possibly even wider for two or more. Because the length is set at 8 which is ample for more than 1 ray already it's only the width of the tank that determines how many rays you should keep. Motoros do max out at 30-36" disc, but rarely get that size in a regular household. Extreme examples of motoros reaching that size would be frank's rays that you can check out at www.freshwaterstingray.nl . Having said that, don't forget that the fish still has a long tail. A ray with a 24" disc could easy have a tail over 12" long meaning you have already hit your 36" width. And like I mentioned before, rays and gars usually doesn't end well. Hungry gars like to take nips at rays.
Then I'm not getting the Gar but I've never seen/heard of a tank with just a front viewing panel how much money would I save and is it still all glass

Tank with just a front viewing panel is similar to frank's megatank. His is basically a reinforced building with a piece of glass in the "entrance" for you to see the tank. If u wanted one of those you could just make a plywood tank and create and opening in the front for a sheet of acrylic or glass. I'm not too good with this engineering stuff so you'd have to ask someone else on which one is safer/better. Should cost you a LOT less than if you were to do a full glass tank of that size.

People aren't too polite to you, first of all if you wanna keep fish, shoot by all means get whatever you want. No ISH a 90g for a two inch RTC is more than enough, people say RTC will outgrow everyone's tank, But look at all these people with one. And damn sure not many people can house a RTC, or aro, but they still do. Not all RTC or Aro will hit 4FT. Everyone goes running their mouth, HEY LOOK THE WORLD RECORD GATOR GAR IS 10-13FT NO ONE KEEPS ONE CAUSE THEY'LL ALL GET THAT BIG! BS I've kept gars, SH, Rays, Aros in a 360. 8x3x2 and they all did fine. Anything with teeth is a risk to another fish, Shoot even my mosquito fish were aggressive as hell. So just ignore these people that went to school for smart ***es and do whatever you want, learn from it instead of hearing from it. Its like going to rehab for drugs and the counselors never seen what a crack pipe look like before,,

im sorry but youre an idiot a fish with the potential to hit 4 ft MEANS IT CAN!! to house a fish that hits 4 ft in a 6 ft tank is cruel. also for all you know your fishes were stunt as hell due to the size tank and now youre runnin around sayin its fine

as to the op i think you should not go through all this tank build as know little next to nothing (no insult intented) but i think it will be wise for you to have a bit more experience in both fish keeping and tank buildin before you do such a large project. as someone mentioned do a smaller built and work your way up and do A LOT more research on the fishes you want.

Coming from a guy who claims he knows that nitrifying bacteria is MICROSCOPIC, but still has to ask whether or not he should be able to see it with his naked eye LOL.

HAHAHAHA +1 for you good sir

Sorry I don't sit at home all day on starring at stuff so when I do notice something I go and ask, but most importantly you do follow through my stuff and know remembered everything I said, and do, by any chance you know when I took a crap last? Anyways Arowanas Lover everything got potential, but I'm not sure if you have any and I'm damn sure a 360 is more than enough to house any arowana. Like someone said here the winner of a internet arguement might as well win the award for the special olypmics :)

potential only applies if the conditions are met. an i can clearly see your conditions to have potential in being a decent fish keeper at all has not been met a 360 g MAY be good if the foot print is right and a 360 is good for arowana yes BUT NOT with all the tankmate he wanted

for you to say his 90g for all the fish he has is perfectly fine proves youre ignorant to keeping fish happy and healthy

Read before you judge, a 90g for a 2inch RTC is fine, notice the size and dim? I never said for a life in that tank.

you should take your own advice did you not see he also has a clown and a bgk in THE SAME TANK? they are known not to mix and also for you to tell him do what he want is dumb
