Sorry off topic but how much would a 2013 car be worth in 2014? To be specific the shelby gt500 2013

Depends on a few things. Mileage, condition of the car(clean/salvaged title), is it still new or used.

x2

Just for laughs, lets say it was fairly well taken care of and only had about 10k miles or less put on it: Then I'd say it'd be worth somewhere around 7k-10k less than sticker.

Back on subject:

Engine swaps are a pain in the rear on newer (computer) cars, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is not a full fledged mechanic. Swapping motors in classics/hot rods is cake in comparison, plus you don't have to worry about passing the smog test in anything over 25 years old :)

around 1000 or less miles and good/great conditon? Still that low or would It be a lil higher? I cant go higher then 30K thats the absolute, most perferbly less.

So for a hot rod you could put almost any motor? Is there like a genral rule of thumb you cant put an engine with x amount of hp in this car and vice versa.

...bbbbbut, you should see the look on snobby drivers' faces when you leave them in the dust.
;-)
Their confusion gave us lots of laffs. LOL

Like a V6 turbo charged Acura TL engine in a Honda CR-X HF body..... I love it. I just don't like mixing of the brands. Like a nissan engine in a ford body or a chevy engine in a kia body and so on. Keep it in the same line at lease.

So, you want to put a Lambo engine in a 1999 Mercedes? I'm confused by this thread. You can't just take a random car and have any random mechanic put any random engine in it. You need to be more specific. I have nostalgia for a lot of cars that people could care less about and have some engine swaps of my own that I would like to do, so maybe I'm biased, but what's the big deal with a 99 Benz? Why would you want that instead of a GT500? I'm not a Mustang guy, either, but I would definitely drive one, especially when I was your age.

It would have to be done by a shop that works on custom cars. Things like mounts, etc might have to be changed. There's also the gearing, tranny and other parts of the drive train.. Like was said earlier, not just any random mechanic can do an engine swap.

A shelby is a top model car it will maybe drop $2000. So I still highly doubt you'll get a 600+hp car as your first ride as a 16 year old. The price will be around $55,000 still. The 2013 shelby is the largest hp v8 in the world (stock anyways) It would be cheaper to fix that Mercedes up and be less scary when you wreck it. Car accidents are inevitable its gonna happen sooner or later may not be extreme but will happen.

The second you drive a car off the lot, you lose about 20% of the value... No idea where you're getting this price drop of $2000... unless he's buying it off the lot (last years model, not bought yet)?

$2000 was a bit of an underestimate but 20% is just a rule of thumb as most. A high end car like a gt500 won't loose its value that quickly especially a newer one. Still the price will still be in the 50,000's. And considering a 07 still goes for 30-40000 and that is 5 years old thats only a 20-40% over 5 years. Around here anyways. well anyways Op both cars are nice choices although an engine swap is not ideal or rational or is the gt500 but gt convincing the parents on what to get you!
