putting cichlids in the mood

good food frequent water changes, and lowering the temp to room temp for a week or so and then slowling increasing.. if that doesnt work i will drop ph while the temp is low then gradually increase both of them. that always works, since in the wild they breed after the rain season and the rain season lowers the ph because of the run off of peat moss and things like that
 
for my FM and con i let them live for 2 weeks without a water change and fed them A LOT, provided 2 areas for eggs, then did a about 60 percent water change and bam she layed eggs. Feed on pellets, blood worms and earthworms. but make sure they are always full.
