Awesome Pickup peanut! , Congrats I remember you saying you wanted some and that wa quite a while ago ...

How big do they get ? and what can you have as tank mates ?
or better yet what would you say the size tank would need to be to comfortabley house one ?

Thanks every one!!! They are rocking my socks for sure. Not active really, but when they do move they are like lightening.

Ha! Yeah, I have been wanting them for a while. I hope I can successfully keep them. Makes me nervous getting a fish I really have wanted for a long time, lot of pressure to do good! :nilly:

They are reported to max out at around 28" in the wild, in captivity though I'm thinking they will be smaller, perhaps in the 26" range. I haven't heard much about large ones, so I can't accurately answer that.

Tank mates would pretty much be anything too large to fit in their mouths, and doesn't pick on them. Most Bagarius species like cooler waters though, like 76* and cooler, so you have to take that into consideration. I've got my mine at a comfy 78* though. Min tank for a full grown would be at least a 250gal, but that would still be pretty cramped.

As for what I'm going to keep with them, haven't really decided yet. I've got my male Crenicichla lenticulata in there with them, but thats only temp.

Awesome fish, congrats - and /\/\onster work on the drip!

Just took some more pictures tonight. :)
