Putting tanks in Bedroom...is it bad?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 4 tanks in my room right now 65, 50, 10 and 5 and the biggest think I have noticed is the humidity my house can get very dry in the winter and I used to get daily and nightly nose bleeds...since I have had the tanks I only get nose bleeds every once in a while.

i've had tanks in my room my whole life, now i cant sleep with dead silence, it irritates me, the noise of a fish tank calms me down... i sleep better too! plus it beats having a TV in there :P

Just curious.. what about the tank water that is evaporated into the air? Since my room is very small & my bed is really close to the tank(it has many holes on the lid), am I inhaling unhealthy air?

Like nitrates? I don't know if they evaporate or not. I'd be more worried about skin contact.

Humidity won't hurt you in moderate amounts.

Find a chemist to answer this one.

It's pretty much all non-volatile and will just remain in solution while only the water evaporates.

Whatever you do, don't eat food! Unlike evaporated water, it contains nitrates!

Seriously though, no worries, unless you have mold growing on your walls from the humidity :P.

And yes, having a tank next to your bed can kill you (if the tank explodes while you're sleeping, or some other freak accident) :P.
