I'm sorry...I didn't realize that you were overseas.

Be very careful with whatever pesticide you use - many are very harmful to reptiles.
I've been taling to the guy at ny LRS and has been keeping and breeding snakes for over 30 years and he's a great person always giving me freebies says that if i give him a bath in olive oil once a week it will help as the mites won't be able to sick on an dthey will die. He says it has worked for him.

I think the British do get PAM, it is the same stuff manufactured by the same people, just that it is being distributed by a different company under a different name. I remember seeing PAM being mentioned on a couple of British herp forums.

Haha...snake oil...that's an old-school husbandry method that might kill a few of the adults, it just makes a big mess and does not kill any of the eggs or larvae that just develop into new adult mites weeks after the treatment.

You are going to need to treat the enclosure and surrounding areas with a safe permethrin-based insecticide. Provent a mite is the only one of these that has been certified to be safe for use with reptiles.

Heres a pic of him:

Soaking means one of a few things:

1- Mites
2- Cage is too hot overall
3- Shelter is not sufficient

some of my snakes likeed to soak every now and then without those problems, when my hog island boa had mites he constantly tried to get out,i didnt see them in time and he rubbed his nose raw on the screen.i was talked into useing oil on a green tree python and then hear thats bad because greens absorb through their skin, that might be bull crap but im not sure.i didnt work anyways.they do like to soak before shedding sometimes.even if humidity is right.good luck, sounds like it may have been a diferent bug.just keep an eye on it,when they get it usualy you see lots of them.mites suck!!!!
