Gotta love the BD's Trev.

The Xingu Ray is Wild caught I believe, I dont know if they've been bred in captivity.

i have bd fever, but i cant afford one right now :(

Atleast you can put "now" on the end of that.....

I simply can't afford or justify spending $6K on a nice ray, and who wants to spend $2K if it looks just like everyone elses. :(

I'd rather buy a hybrid. Especially if you still get acused of having a hybrid just cause of how nice it is.

Very impressive

The Marshy BD is not a hybrid, it is a F1 BD, just an exceptional one, say 5 out of 100 are this quality. The parents were pretty good wc BD, they are still with the breeder. I exported it along with alot of others, another very good one has gone to Song. There are a couple more that have just gone insane. I you want I shall do a development thread so you can see the progress if Marshy, Song, William, and Jeffers let me use their pics. I could post the pup pics, and pics after a couple of months and then the owner pictures of the fish now. Think would look pretty cool.

Hope you dont mind me posting Mark :)

OK, seriously now. I almost broke my keyboard when my jaw hit it and almost pissed myself at the same time when I saw this picture. I would say most of the rays posted in this thread are some of the best I have seen but this IS the most stunning ray I have ever seen.

Xingu...aka snow leopard

I am no ray expert but I got this from Wiki. Looks like they are calling it a Leo? That was not the only place I found that was calling it a Leo.

The Xingu River ray or white-blotched river stingray, Potamotrygon leopoldi, is a species of fish in the Potamotrygonidae family. It is endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitat is rivers. It is threatened by habitat loss.

It is not a Leopoldi, and wiki is far from reliable when it comes to specific fish species. If anything its currently under P. Orbignyi. This coloration/pattern is only once mature. You see this ray is not the most desired at imported size....Its coloration and pattern differ greatly from juvie to adult.

Laz- any pics of a juvie would be greatly appreciated. That way if i ever have the luck to see one in person, i can know what i am looking at. THANK YOU
