Question about Green Terrors and the orange on there tail

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice fish. My guess is female, but that's because mine looked very similar to yours at the same size. Time will tell. Looks like theres some potential there though. Pretty colors for it's size

Thanks...guess I will give it another month or two and re post a pic to see what yall think. I really just want a mail...its for my show 300 at home that will have a sa/ca mix.

I think you are going to have to wait until he get about 6 inches to really tell how that tail will turn out.

My old guy at roughly 6.5" and at about 2.5-3". I can't find the earlier pics.

Hi there, the picture you took has great quality! The lil bugger looks like he/she's got potential.

Here's a link to a thread of mine with my little terror @ 2-3" still. It's only been about two months or so since the photo, so I can't help much with the "after" photos.

This is another link to another thread, not mine, from a green terror breeder(awesome fish!). Even at 3" the fish showed no signs of a future beast but once it got to 7", it just blossomed(keep in mind he is a breeder though, so I can't say how yours will turn out). Anyway, this thread should be a good inspiration for you :) look through all its pages.

Thanks for the photo...I just ordered another one just in case...I asked for a male and they are 2" from thewetspot. I dont know if they can tell sex at that size or not but I asked so we will see. I'll try to get an updated pic of this one...that last pic is about a month old I think.

Nice Green Terror, I'm actually going to be getting some GT's soon myself in hopes of a pair. I used to have a Green Terror and he/she was the smallest in the tank of about 7 cichlids in total. Because of this reason the GT never showed its color/potential. This time around though I hope to get a colorful one as the tank will only be for the two. Besides the orange on the tail I've seen some pictures of GT's with bright orange on their side fins that they use to swim with, but I've also seen some that don't have it. Does anyone know if this orange on the side fins comes out on all GT's, perhaps the males only?
