I have a tiger that has a pretty close to "wild" pattern.
I just could not find any cool ones six months ago when I got him. Now one of the stores has a few bumble bees at 2" for $25 each.
Here's the thing with oscars.
Common oscars, the common wild-type oscars are the ones farm rasied in Florida.
Wild oscars vary from all S. America. They all have different colorations, but they eat and grow as big or bigger than your common tiger oscar. There are many species of wild oscars. Some have tons of coloration, while others have none.
There are many Astronotus species, but none of the Astronotus ocellatus are wild caught, only farmed raised, alot of the Astronotus crassipinnis are.
Here are some pics of the mere wild oscars, you'll likely get from Peru or Colombia. View attachment 805015
Not related to "wild" oscars but irony as I never had an oscar in my possession b4, but picked up a complete set up today with two healthy 8" orang'ish side specie and gave it free to the lady at my local gas station. Totally random on the re-home.
