Question for big dreamers:

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i say...
10+ sliver aro's
2-4 RTC
2-4 TSN
10-30 rays :hearts:
2 ripsaw cats
at least 2 pimas
100 or so red hooks
few oscars.
HERD of pbass....
i would 2 small black caiman..................
few nice sized knifes
few of those native turtles....

something like that..

what the L x W x H about of this tank

It's 14' deep. I'll get an estimate on the outside diameter today and post it. It's an odd shape tank (more or less a triangle shape). Really ROUGH guess, I'd say the sides are maybe 30-35'.....but that is a VERY ROUGH guess off the top of my head.

I'd love to do a croc of some kind, but I was wondering about veiwing it??? Since the only way to see the exhibit is from the tunnel at the bottom....would it be worth adding one if all the guest would see is it's belly??

if you could get some fish to go with a small croc and make sure its always fed it would be amazing. i think you should put more than fish though. make it look just like a lake in south america. like turtles, fish, maybe a small caiman (smallest in south america if possible), its always been my dream to have a big mini ecosystem of ohio in a tank. with bass, bluegill, catfish, frogs, and turtles.

I would go with 150 convicts, 3 silver aros (not too many so the few are stunning) some rays, some knifes, biggest eartheaters you can find, a HUGE root system in the background, NO PACUS!!! PERIOD!

I think the cons would sufficiently create a "tetra-like" schooling affect. For more cichlids I would have maybe 5 green terrors, a group of 10 oscars, and a TSN

125,000 gallons is alot.

If the only way to see it is the bottom tunnel, then go with lots of bottom dwellers, cats/rays, lots of pbass, lots of smaller fish in the couple inch range. Make a whole ecosystem out of it though like alot have said.

gator gars

The gar (gator, shortnose and long nose) are getting moved out of that tank to make room for my Amazon stuff. They're going over to the 225,000 native tank. Here's a picture of them in the tank I will be taking over soon.
Yestersday, I set an acrylic window into one of the holding tanks I'll be using to quar new fish coming in. (10 foot circle with 4 foot depth). I need to plumb in a biotower and it should be ready to test fill Tuesday or so.

Nice rehash. The tank is set up now, they have an Arapaima, silver dollars, midas, and a bunch of other cichlids. Some Stingrays, and catfish too. Going to see this weekend, pics will be forthcoming.
